Browns Trade QB Pickett
Per various medis reports including ESPN and BrownsZone.com’s Scott Petrak, Cleveland is trading backup quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders in return for a 5th round draft pick in 2026.
Pickett was acquired in the off-season from the Eagles when the Browns sent quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 5th round draft pick to Philadelphia for Pickett.
The former 1st round pick of the Steelers never took a single snap in the preseason for Cleveland.
This currently leaves the Browns with 4 quarterbacks on the roster: starter Joe Flacco, rookie backup Dillon Gabriel, third string rookie Shedeur Sanders and the injured veteran, Deshaun Watson.
The Browns and the rest of the NFL have until 4 PM on Tuesday, August 26 to trim their roster down to the allowed 53 players.
Cleveland opens up the regular season on Sunday, September 7th at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
You’ll hear that game and all of the Browns games on 1480 WHBC.
