Gabriel Starts At QB, Browns Beat Eagles 22-13

Browns rookie quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, coming back from a hamstring injury, started and led three scoring drives to help the Browns beat the Eagles in Philadelphia on Saturday 22–13.

Gabriel, a third round pick out of Oregon, engineered his only touchdown drive on the opening series when he completed 4 of 4 passes for 29 yards. The drive was capped off with a 4 yard touchdown run from Ahmani Marshall to give Cleveland a 6-0 lead.

Gabriel’s other two scoring drives ended in field goals and as he exited the game at halftime with Cleveland trailing 13-12.

Gabriel finished the contest 13 for 18 for 143 yards with 0 td’s and 1 interception, which was returned for a touchdown.

Tyler Huntley replaced Gabriel in the second half and was the only other quarterback to play for the Browns.

Cleveland’s other touchdown in the game came on 45 yard “Pick 6” by defensive end K.J. Henry.

The Browns are now 2-0 and will play their third and final preseason game at home this Saturday at 1 PM against the Rams.
