North Canton High school sent out a press release confirming that Craig Nettleton will be the new girls Basketball Coach last night. Read more below.

Craig Nettleton named Hoover Girls Basketball Coach for 2023-2024 Season

The North Canton Board of Education has approved Craig Nettleton as the Hoover girls
basketball coach for the 2023-2024 season. Nettleton served as the varsity head coach of the girls
basketball team at Southeast High School from 2018-2023, leading them to conference
championships three times. He previously coached the varsity girls basketball team at Field High
School from 2011-2017. Nettleton also coached boys and girls basketball at Field, Northwest,
and Kidron Central Christian. He served as the 2022 North/South All Star Game Coach and was
recognized by the OHSBCA for amassing 300 wins in 2020. In 2019 -2020 and 2018-2019, he
was named the PTC Coach of the Year.
North Canton Athletic Director Tom Oakes says Nettleton brings 26 years of experience to the
position and a positive approach to coaching. “We are extremely excited to introduce Craig
Nettleton as our girls basketball coach at Hoover High School. We have known him to be a
wonderful coach, but most importantly Craig is a better person. He is outstanding at building
positive, professional relationships with his girls and boys student-athletes during his head
coaching career at Field HS and Southeast HS. He is well respected among his peers, and we
look forward to Coach Nettleton bringing his passion for coaching to our girls basketball
program.”
A “Meet the Coach Night” has been scheduled for all girls interested in basketball for next
season on Thursday, April 20, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Hoover High School
media center. Please enter the building through door #24. This meeting is for all future Lady
Vikings basketball student-athletes entering grades 9-12 next year.
