Louisville Wins First State Title, Perry Falls Short
DAYTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – It was a tale of two boys basketball teams headed in the same direction.
Until the final chapter was written.
While the Louisville Leopards hung on to defeat Cincinnati Aiken for the Division-3 championship on Friday 63 to 61, it was Westerville North ending the improbable run by the Perry Panthers for the Division-2 title, 78 to 46.
It was quite a game for the Leopards, running out to a 19-point halftime lead, only to see Aiken score the first 15 points of the second half.
It really was a thriller.

With 1.9 seconds left, Aiken got off a desperation shot, but it bounced off the backboard.
Coach Tom Siegfried talked to 1480 WHBC right after the win about the school’s first state basketball championship.
He says it was hard to put into words, but he was proud of his players and the community.

For the Panthers, it was also their first appearance in a state title game.
