Minerva Local School District announced the hiring of Zach Slates as thier new Football Coach with the below release

For Immediate Release

Committed: Zach Slates and Tim Wolf are Headed to Minerva Local Football

At their Board of Education Meeting on January 13th, the Minerva Local School District showed their commitment to
improving the football program by hiring two next level coaches in their choice of Zach Slates and Tim Wolf. Zach Slates
will be Minerva’s next head football coach. Tim Wolf will be both an assistant principal and a varsity assistant football
coach for the 2025-2026 school year.
The following can be attributed to Gary Chaddock, Superintendent of Minerva Local Schools:
“Mr. Garth Evans and the interview committees which consisted of teachers, coaches, administrators, Board of Education
members, and a community member, took 43 total applications down to 9 candidates for the first round. By the end of
round two, a smaller committee found themselves strategizing the strengths and weaknesses of three quality coaches. I
can’t thank those involved in this process enough for all the time they put into meeting with and discussing candidates.
We found ourselves near the end of the fourth quarter, looking at fourth down, and needing to make a play call that
guaranteed success. I empowered Garth with an opportunity to work some magic to explore options that were not in our
existing playbook and after a few in depth conversations, it paid off! I am incredibly excited to be bringing on two
dedicated, experienced, and motivated men to lead the next chapter of Minerva Football!”
