ON FEB. 16 AT CHASE CENTER IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA

CLEVELAND – Cavaliers guard Darius Garland and forward Evan Mobley have been selected as reserves for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco, the league announced tonight on TNT. They will join Donovan Mitchell, who was previously named an All-Star starter, and Head Coach Kenny Atkinson at the event. This is the third time in franchise history that the Cavaliers have earned three NBA All-Star selections (1989, 1993 and 2017) and just the second instance in team history where three All-Star players are accompanied by their head coach (1989). The 74th annual NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Chase Center will air live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.

This marks the second NBA All-Star selection for Garland in his career with his first being at 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland and Mobley will make his first All-Star appearance. The voting for reserves was done by NBA head coaches for their respective conferences.

Garland (6-1, 186) is averaging a career-high in points (21.7) and shooting a career-high in field goal percentage (.499), three-point percentage (.425) and free-throw percentage (.883) over his 45 appearances (all starts) this season. The sixth-year guard is the only player in the NBA averaging at least 20.0 points while shooting at least .490 from the field .400 from the three-point line and .880 from the free-throw line. He is also one of two players in the NBA this season averaging 21.0+ points, 6.5+ assists, 1.00+ steals and .400+ three-point percentage (Nikola Jokic, DEN). The 25-year-old guard has also moved into the top three in Cavaliers history this season on the all-time three-pointers made list (3rd, 819 3FGM) as well as the total assists list (3rd, 2,358 AST).

During Cleveland’s historic 15-0 start, Garland averaged 21.4 points and 7.0 assists while shooting .525 from the field, .455 from the three-point line and .932 from the free-throw line. No other player in Cavaliers history has reached those averages in the first 15 games of a campaign. He has recorded one game of 40 or more points, four games of 30 or more points and 28 games of 20 or more points as well as four double-doubles so far this season.

Garland has recorded some key performances this season, including a season-high 40 points on 14-22 (.636) shooting from the field, 4-7 (.571) shooting from the three-point line to go with nine assists and two steals in 36 minutes on Jan. 9 vs Toronto. He became the fourth player in Cavaliers history to have five or more 40-point games, joining LeBron James, Donovan Mitchell, and Kyrie Irving. It was also Garland’s second career game with at least 40 points and nine assists. Garland has won the Player of the Week award twice this season (week ending Nov. 10 and week ending Jan. 12). With three such awards for his career, he is now the fourth player in Cavs history to win the award three or more times (LeBron James – 42 times, Kyrie Irving – four times, Donovan Mitchell – four times).

Mobley (7-0, 215) is averaging career-highs in points (18.2 PPG), steals (0.90 SPG), three-point percentage (.398 3FG%) and free-throw percentage (.754 FT%) in a career-low 30.1 minutes. Mobley has also recorded 20 double-doubles (tied for 15th in NBA) as well as 13 games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. He is one of only four NBA players this season (Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo) averaging 18.0+ points, 8.0+ rebounds, 1.50+ blocks and 1.00+ steals. He is also the only player in the NBA with those averages while shooting .390+ from the three-point line.

Additionally, Mobley ranks fifth in the entire NBA (3rd in the East) this season in overall plus-minus at +333. He also has 108 dunks this season, which ranks fourth in the NBA and ranks 5th in the Eastern Conference in blocked shots per game (1.41 BPG), including 18 multi-block games on the season. He is shooting a career-best 45-113 (.398) from the three-point line this season, with his 45 three-pointers made marking his career-high for triples made in a season.

In Cleveland’s win over Charlotte on Dec. 7, Mobley recorded a career-high 41 points (23 in the first quarter), a career-high six three-pointers made, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 34 minutes. He became the fourth player in NBA history to reach those numbers, joining Vince Carter (two times), Kevin Durant and James Harden. His 23 points in the first quarter was tied for the third-highest scoring total in the opening quarter in Cavaliers history. Mobley shot 9-10 (.900) from the field and a perfect 5-5 from the three-point line in the first quarter. Mobley became just the fourth Cavalier in team history to record at least 40 points and 10 rebounds in a game (LeBron James – 20 times, Donovan Mitchell – 3 times, and Cliff Robinson). Mobley also became the first player since 1973-74 (when steals were introduced) to accumulate at least 23 points, 16 rebounds, four steals and shooting at least .909 from the field (10-11) in a single game on November 9th versus Brooklyn.

An NBA All-Star Draft to determine the three team rosters will be broadcasted Thursday, Feb. 6 on TNT with TNT’s Inside the NBA commentators and honorary team general managers Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith, drafting from the pool of 24 players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.
