Indiana beat Ohio State 13 to 10 in the Big Ten Championship game to win the Conference Title and claim the number one overall seed in the College Football Playoff.

Fernando Mendoza’s 17 yard touchdown pass to Elijah Sarratt in the third quarter proved to be the difference.

Mendoza, considered the front runner to win the Heisman Trophy, finished the game with 222 yards, passing with the one touchdown and one interception.

OSU quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 258 yards and a touchdown, but struggled at times in the game, including on the opening drive, as for the second week in a row he threw interception that led to an Indiana field goal and a 3-0 deficit.

Ohio State’s defense played well enough to win, but the Buckeyes offense did not.

Twice Ohio State drove inside the Indiana 10 yard line in the second half and twice came away with zero points.

On one possession, Sayin was stopped on a fourth and one play, and on the next possession, Jayden Fielding missed a 27 yard field goal.

With the victory Indiana improves to 13-0.

With the loss Ohio State falls to 12-1 snapping their current 16 game winning streak and a 30 game winning streak against Indiana.

The good news though for the Buckeyes is they’re in the playoffs, but they will have to wait and see on Sunday what seed they will be and when, where and who they will play.
