Perry Panthers Name New Head Wrestling Coach
Perry Township, Ohio – Perry Local Schools is excited to name Danny Genetin, a 2008 graduate, as the new head coach of its boys wrestling program pending Perry Local Schools Board of Education approval.
Genetin, an alumnus of the program and current assistant coach, has been selected because of his vast experience and clear vision for developing young athletes and sustaining the team’s winning culture.
“As a proud Perry graduate and someone who has dedicated over a decade as an assistant coach, Danny brings not only deep knowledge of the sport, but a true passion for the program and community,” said Perry High School Athletic Director Kevin Yoder. “His commitment to student-athletes and tradition of excellence makes him the right leader for the next chapter of our wrestling.”
“It is an honor and privilege to take over such a storied program as Perry wrestling. Being a former Perry wrestler myself, I want to give back to the Perry wrestling community,” said Genetin. “I want to continue the excellence that Brent McBurney forged with our athletes and make sure that we are set up for success for many years to come.”
“We know that Danny’s relationships with the coaching staff, parents, students, and community will allow him to continue to push our wrestlers to reach their potential,” Perry High School Principal Bill Hildebrand added. “We trust him because of his dedication, skill, and proven leadership.”
Danny and his wife, Emily, reside in Navarre with their three children Camden, Delaney, and Garrett.
