Thank God It Was Fry’s Day, As Guards Force A Game 5 In The ALDS

The game might have been played on a Thursday in Detroit, but it was David Fry’s day as he delivered a pinch hit 2-run homer and an RBI safety squeeze bunt to help the Guardians beat the Tigers 5–4 and force a game 5 in the ALDS in Cleveland on Saturday.

The win snaps an 11 game losing streak for Cleveland in playoff elimination games and keeps their season alive.

Fry drove in Cleveland’s last 3 runs on the 2-run homer in the 7th and the safety squeeze in the 9th.

Jose Ramirez provided an offensive spark, launching his 1st home run in the series, a solo shot in the 5th.

Steven Kwan was also a huge part of the offense, going 3 for 5, with 2 runs scored and a stolen base.

Hunter Gaddis got the win relief and Emmanuel Clase picked up a 5-out save.

The 5th and deciding game in this ALDS will play be played Saturday at Progressive Field in Cleveland, 1st pitch is currently scheduled for 4:38pm.
