Well….here we go again down the homestretch in the Federal League.  Seems every year, as we roll into the final couple of weeks of the season,  we are looking at a Co-Champ, a Tri-Champ, or an outright champ. Case in point…this Friday Night as Mckinley will travel to Perry to battle with the Perry Panthers.

McKinley is unblemished in the Fed.  Friday Night is their final Federal League game of the season.  They take care of business and they are the outright champs. It’s a different McKinley team than we witnessed early in the season.  They are more rounded on both sides of the ball. They are playing smarter, and with a more measured intensity. Eiljah Wesley continues to mature at QB with excellent efficiency.  After the week 3 loss to Euclid he was completing his passes at a 38% clip. In the 5 wins since then he is completing 65% with ZERO int’s! And, he can change the complexion of a game with his legs.  Pair his ability with Lameir Garrett and they can put up dynamic numbers.

However, here comes Perry.  As in past years, they get stronger and better the deeper they go into the season.  The Panthers have won 5 in a row in this series, and the key to all of the wins has been ball control – clock- burning offense. In the 5 consecutive wins over the Pups….the Panthers have averaged 58 carries per game.  It’s a Wing T with a pair of 1,000 yard rushers with Dion Cundiff and Joshua Lemon, and a physical, disciplined team on both sides of the ball. And they want their share of the Fed.

It’s Week 9 and again we have a Federal League battle that is second to none.  As kids our parents always told us…Be nice and share…From my perspective in the booth…I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply to this Friday Night!   It’s MCKINLEY VS PERRY on the Sarchione Ford Game of the Week! See Ya’ll On the Radio!
